What marketing costs for a Richmond trade business

The Growth plan is $1,999 monthly with no commitment, or $1,499 monthly if billed annually, before 5% GST. Click costs sit outside the plan and are billed to your own ad account.

Richmond Marketing's plans follow the Trades.Agency pricing. The entry plan, Growth, is $1,999 a month month-to-month or $1,499 a month on annual billing. Prices are in Canadian dollars, and clients in Richmond add 5% GST. Ad spend is separate and goes from your account straight to the platform.

We are a marketing and consulting service, not a contractor. These fees pay for planning, building and running your marketing, not for trade work.

The three plans

Plan Month-to-month Annual billing What it covers
Growth $1,999/month $1,499/month The essentials for a Richmond crew that already has steady referral work
Elite $3,999/month $2,999/month More channels run side by side; Trades.Agency website design packages at half price
Enterprise $7,999/month $5,999/month Your own marketing team with priority support; any website design and build package included free

Nothing locks you in: every plan runs month to month, and 30 days' notice ends it. Choosing annual billing trades that flexibility for a lower monthly rate.

Which plan fits a Richmond trade

Most owner-run Richmond crews start on Growth. It suits a business with one main service area, a few profitable job types and one or two channels to run well, usually local search plus a modest paid search campaign.

Elite makes sense once you're running several channels at once: for example, homeowner search, strata and property-manager outreach and Chinese-language pages. The website design discount also helps if your current site needs replacing.

Enterprise is for larger trade companies with several crews or service lines, where a dedicated team and priority support pay for themselves, and a new website build is part of the package.

What drives your total cost

The plan fee is only part of the picture. Your real monthly cost has three parts:

  1. The plan fee, from the table above, plus GST.
  2. Ad spend, if you run paid search. This depends on your trade, the job types you target and how much of Richmond you cover.
  3. Your own time, mostly answering calls fast and asking customers for reviews. It's free, but skipping it is what makes marketing expensive.

A worked example

A Richmond drainage company on Growth, annual billing, spending $1,500 a month on Google Ads:

  • Plan: $1,499 + 5% GST = about $1,574
  • Ad spend: $1,500 (GST treatment depends on the platform's billing)
  • Total: roughly $3,074 a month

If the average job is $1,100 at 45% margin, each job leaves about $495. Plan and ads together need just over six booked jobs a month to break even, and every job beyond that adds to profit. That's the kind of maths we do with you before you sign. Our cost per booked job guide walks through it.

What you don't pay for

There are no charges for reports, strategy calls or the monthly review of your cost per booked job; they're part of the plan. We don't add a percentage on top of your ad spend either, because the click budget never passes through us. If a one-off project is needed, you get a written quote first and decide separately.

How to choose without overspending

  • Start smaller than you think. It's easier to add a channel once one is working than to fix three at once.
  • Pick annual billing only when you're confident. Month-to-month costs more but lets you test us first.
  • Budget ad spend separately. Don't let a plan fee squeeze your click budget so far that you can't get useful data.
  • Ask what you'll own. With us, the website, Google profile and ad accounts are yours.

The free consultation

Before any paid plan, eligible trades businesses get a free 30-minute consultation. We'll look at your current marketing, your job values and your service area, and tell you honestly whether a plan makes sense now. Sometimes the answer is "fix your phone answering first".

For the full feature list of each plan, see Trades.Agency's pricing page. Questions about contracts and ownership are answered in the FAQ, and you can reach us by call, text or email.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a setup fee?

Our published pricing is the monthly plan fee. If your situation needs a one-off project, such as a full website rebuild, we'll quote it in writing before you agree to anything.

Is ad spend included?

No. Click costs for Google Ads and Local Services Ads are paid from your own ad account directly to Google. That keeps the spend visible to you and the account in your name.

How do I cancel?

Plans are month-to-month with 30 days' notice. Annual billing gives a lower monthly rate in exchange for the yearly commitment.

Do prices include tax?

Prices are in Canadian dollars. Richmond clients add 5% GST.

Is the first conversation really free?

Yes. Eligible trades businesses get a 30-minute first conversation at no charge. It sits outside the paid plans, and nothing is owed afterwards.
